Plastic Spacers For Industry
Bülte offers a wide range of technical plastic spacers, standoffs and dowel pins. They are specifically designed to reliably meet the diverse requirements of industrial assembly processes. The standoffs are available in standard versions and models such as: hexagonal, cylindrical, as retaining spacers with holding lips, with reduced hole or as saddle spacers for tubes.
Thanks to their light weight, corrosion resistance and insulating properties, plastic spacers ensure precise spacing, reliable insulation and secure support between mechanical or electronic components. They are perfectly suited for applications in the automotive, electronics, electrical engineering, aerospace and mechanical engineering industries.
A Complete Range Of Technical Spacers
Hexagonal Plastic Standoffs
Our hexagonal plastic standoffs are widely used in electronic assemblies, where they provide a constant distance between two printed circuit boards (PCBs). With through thread from M2 to M6 or male/female thread in sizes M3 to M5, they are available – some of them glass fiber reinforced – in polyamide or POM, in black, white and natural colors.
Plastic Dowel Pins
Dowel pins ensure perfect alignment in mechanical or precision assemblies. They are particularly used where electrical or thermal insulation, lightweight design and resistance to moisture and chemicals are required. Plastic dowel pins are available at Bülte
- in solid version made of black PA-GF with diameters of 4–10 mm and lengths from 2–45 mm, or
- hollow version made of white PA with diameters of 6–10 mm and lengths from 6–30 mm.
Tapped/Threaded Standoffs
The standoffs with female and/or male thread in hexagonal or cylindrical version allow for quick assembly of components without the need for special tools. Available in different lengths, they provide reliable fastening while reducing overall weight.
Standoffs: Tested And Certified Quality
Our spacers, like all our products, are manufactured from selected raw materials, with full traceability and in strict compliance with REACH and RoHS directives. These requirements ensure consistent reliability, which is essential in industrial manufacturing processes.

What is a spacer and what is it used for in industry?
A spacer is a fastening element that ensures a defined distance between two components in an assembly. Made of plastic, standoffs are often used for the purpose of electrical insulation, stabilization and/or as distance holders in both mechanical assemblies and electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs).
How to choose the right spacer for each industrial application?
The choice of spacer depends on several factors:
- the type of assembly (screws/nuts, PCBs, mechanical mounts...)
- the required mechanical and thermal resistance
- the environmental conditions (humidity, chemicals...)
- the appropriate dimension and material for your application.
We offer spacers made of technical plastics that adapt to all industrial requirements. Plastic screws and plastic nuts complement Bülte’s range of plastic fasteners.
What are the advantages of Bülte plastic spacers?
- Electrical insulation for use in electronic environments
- Resistance to moisture and chemicals
- Lightweight compared to metal spacers
- Reliability and traceability in production
- Customization according to drawing or technical specifications
Which materials are used for the production of spacers?
Our standard plastic spacers are manufactured from:
- PA 6.6 (Polyamide) and PA-GF (glass fiber reinforced polyamide): robust, lightweight, insulating
- PP (Polypropylene): excellent chemical resistance
- PE (Polyethylene): versatile and economical
- POM (Polyacetal): dimensionally stable, high strength with toughness, very good sliding properties
- PVDF: high thermal and chemical resistance
- PTFE (Teflon): high chemical resistance, low coefficient of friction, temperature resistant up to approx. 260°C
